Our statement of faith is based on the Bible, the sole basis of our beliefs.
I. The Scriptures
We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God. The Bible reveals the principles by which God judges us and is the true center of the Christian faith.
II Timothy 3:15-17
We believe there is only one living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is holy, infinite, eternal, unchangeable, all powerful and all knowing. God reveals Himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but one. I John 5:7
- God the Father: God as Father reigns with providential care over His creation, the universe. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:17
- God the Son: The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and became man without ceasing to become God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus took upon Himself the human nature, completely identifying Himself with mankind, yet without sin. In His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God as our Mediator and Intercessor. It is only through Christ Jesus that there is reconciliation between God and man. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever- present Lord. Luke 1:34-35; Romans 3:24-26, 8:34
- God the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Lord and Giver of Life. He proceeds from the Father and the Son and who with the Father together is worshipped and glorified. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth, seals them until the day of redemption and bestows spiritual gifts upon them. John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 13;
We believe Salvation is by grace. This is a free gift from God, given to all who believe in His Son Jesus Christ and accept Him as Lord of their life. Salvation of man is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in His sight. John 3:16-19; John 14:6; Acts 4:12
IV. Bodily Resurrection
We believe that at physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing. At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation. John 5:25-29; Revelation 1:18; 3:11; 20:1-22:13.
V. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
We believe in the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Matthew 24:1-44
VI. The Adversary – The Devil
We believe there is an adversary, Satan, who is the author of sin and the reason for man’s fall. He is destined to the judgment of an eternal punishment in the lake of fire. Matthew 4:1-3; Revelation 20:10
VII. The Great Commission
We believe in the last command of the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. Matthew 25:31-46; 28:18-20
